Ascent on SCUBA

Zeagle Systems announces

The  “Ascent” Buoyancy Control Belt! Patent Pending

When used with SCUBA, the Ascent is the World’s Smallest & Lightest BC !

When used with a full sized scuba tank on a separate tank pack this super streamlined BC has 100% usable lift, zero squeeze or ride up.

It allows effortless straight up floatation by placing all the buoyancy below a divers lungs and diaphragm.

The Ascent is the first weight integrated BC that is separate from the tank harness, which makes it very easy to lift the tank and pack into a boat, while the diver remains buoyant on the surface.

The retractable bladder does away with the traditional corrugated deflation/inflation hose that encumbers a diver’s left shoulder area.

The tank pack connects to the BC belt with a standard quick disconnect low pressure inflation hose routed under the divers left arm.

The Ascent BC belt and separate tank pack can be packed and stored more easily than traditional combined BC packs.

WARNING! This super streamlined BC Belt and Tank Pack are for advanced divers only! They require advanced buoyancy skills and therefore should not be used by novice or intermediate divers. Training should be obtained prior to use.

WARNING! Tropical and temperate climates are the best environments for use. Thick wetsuits and dry suits needed for cold water diving require more ballast than can adequately be             compensated with this BC.

The above photo was taken on a 140' dive in West Palm Beach wearing the Ascent BC Belt below a scuba tank pack. Later at the surface, in 6 foot seas, the heavy gun was held up with a dive flag tied onto the spear to call over a fishing boat and relay our position to our dive boat.

More uses for the Ascent BC Belt and it's components:

Adding a second stage to the Ascent's first stage makes it the smallest & lightest shallow water scuba system ever made. (See at left.) This could be all a diver needs to clear a fouled boat propeller, inspect a hull or free an anchor in very shallow water.

Warning: The 12" PSIG shown should be used for continual monitoring.

The  6 cu ft tank used in my pool at 6 ft depth and it lasted for 13 minutes, very relaxed and warm. My SAC was 3.9 cfm. (Your mileage may vary, YMMV.)

The same tank lasted 4.8 minutes at a fast swim pace where I swam 770 ft at 4 ft. of depth, with no push-offs from the walls. SAC of 1.1 cfm. (YMMV) This was an estimate of the speed I might use if needing to get up from a deep dive to the depth where I could use my stage deco tank, approx. 30 ft. If you do the math you will see that the tank would have allowed a theoretical horizontal swim of 192 ft at 115 fsw.

The Zeagle Razor pony tank can be fitted with a second stage and serve as a bail-out breathing supply for conventional scuba divers. (See below.)

Using the data from above, an ascent from 200 ft, with the assist of increasing buoyancy, would surely present no gas consumption problem. (Obviously going slower would be wiser. We do not recommend this procedure, but it beats the alternative in an emergency.)
